Domaine Bousquet Malbec 2025, Tupungato, Mendoza, Organic, Half Bottle 375ml

This is the classic Domaine Bousquet Malbec in a handy half bottle. The grapes are grown mainly in the family’s organic vineyards in Tupungato, in Mendoza’s Uco Valley, at around 1,200 metres. Sandy, well-drained soils, drip irrigation and a dry, sunny climate with cool mountain nights allow the fruit to ripen fully while keeping its freshness. The grapes are hand-harvested and the vines are nourished with compost rather than chemical fertilisers. The wine is made with gentle handling to preserve the purity of the fruit, and it is certified organic and vegan.

Domaine Bousquet Malbec shows classic aromas of blackberry, plum and blackcurrant, with a floral hint of violet and a touch of spice. The palate is ripe and lively, with damson and cassis flavours, soft tannins and good structure and persistence.

The half bottle is ideal for a meal for one or two. It is a natural match for steak, burgers, lamb or strong cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C. This is a wine to enjoy young and fruity, ideally within two to three years of the vintage.

Domaine Bousquet is a family winery with French roots and an Argentine home. Jean Bousquet, from a winemaking family near Carcassonne in southern France, fell for Mendoza on a visit in 1990 and in 1997 bought wild, unplanted land in Gualtallary, high in the Uco Valley at around 1,200 metres. Organic farming has been used since the first vines went in. His daughter Anne Bousquet and her husband Labid Al Ameri now run the estate. The entire production is certified organic, the vineyards and winery are farmed biodynamically, and Domaine Bousquet holds Regenerative Organic Certification and B Corp status. Sunshine, cool mountain nights and stony, free-draining soils give the wines ripe fruit with natural freshness.
