Champagne Henriot Blanc de Blancs Brut NV

Champagne Henriot Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay, from a selection of Grand and Premier Cru sites spread across Champagne’s main Chardonnay areas, from the Côte des Blancs to Trépail, Sézanne, the Vitryat and Montgueux. A significant share of the blend, typically 30 to 50%, comes from Henriot’s perpetual reserve of older wines, adding depth and complexity. The wine then spends several years ageing on its lees before disgorgement and a Brut dosage.

Henriot Blanc de Blancs is crisp, mineral and refined. The nose shows fresh citrus, lemon curd and white peach, with notes of pineapple, wet chalk and light pastry. The palate is creamy and velvety yet lively, with zesty acidity, a fine mousse and a long, chalky, saline finish.

This is a superb aperitif and a natural partner for oysters, scallops, sushi, crab, grilled sole or goat’s cheese. Serve well chilled at 8–10°C, in a tulip or white wine glass to let the aromas open. Champagne Henriot Blanc de Blancs is drinking beautifully now and will keep and gain toasty complexity for five years or more.

Champagne Henriot was founded in Reims in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, widow of Nicolas Henriot, after she had spent years helping run the family’s cloth and wine business. Her first vineyards were in the Pinot Noir villages of the Montagne de Reims, and in 1880 the family added leading Chardonnay crus of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly. Henriot sources mostly from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards and is known for its perpetual reserve, a long-held blend of older wines that adds depth and continuity to its non-vintage cuvées. The house is prized for elegance, purity and finesse.
